BTW, McCain's speech was very good. But I will NEVER vote for him in the primaries under any circumstances.That's just what Medved said. He wouldn't be Medved's first choice. Let's pray he doesn't get the nomination.
I have a different take on a physical barrier--it tells the world that what we have here in the United States is special and should be protected. It's not a barrier to keep people in. Also, the ignorant people that say we are Nazis (those abroad and homegrown) are going to be ignorant no matter what we do.

I don't have the radio on now, but had it on in the car.
I just don't want to do anything that will make the State Departments job any harder. As exasperated as I get with them, I understand and support the job they do: Good Cop to the Military Bad Cop, figuratively speaking of course.
Also, our border is very long. The cost would be prohibitive and it probably wouldn't be functional. Human beings have a way of doing what they want no matter what. And we area pretty tenacious about it. Therefore, we need to find better ways to keep them out.
