Yikes!

Thunderstorms I love, but I draw the line at tornadoes.

Thank goodness we don't have them often in CA., and if we do they're iffy at best.

I'll take my earthquakes any day......

I once said that, until the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989. I was on the upper deck of Candlestick Park for the World Series game. I suddenly realized how small a human being is. At least with tornadoes and hurricanes, you get a warning! Not so with earthquakes.

I live just north of Atlanta (we like to call it North Georgia))

About 3 years ago I was up at 5:00 am. Husband just left for work. I heard creaking upstairs & thought "Who the hell is up that early?"

The creaking noise then traveled from the upstairs->main floor->basement. I called my husband's cellphone and told him I thought we had an earthquake.

He told me I was crazy. I got to call him later and make sure he knew I WAS RIGHT! LOL!

It was so weird. I never felt a tremor, but could hear the sound travel from the top of the house to the basement. My nephew was knocked out of bed at his house.
