Boyfriend is a too broad a term to use in a law case. It has to be clarified.

"I did not have sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky" comes to mind.

So what do you think ABC is clarifying by using "boyfriend" in quotes? It strikes me as more of a suggestive wink than a clarification. Or is ABC quoting someone who used the term "boyfriend"?

Honestly, "boyfriend" in quotes just jumped out at me when I read the story. I think it's unusual.
