An ABC news article posted by your little friend Howlin way back at the beginning of this story included the "broomstick" idea.

I didn't originate it although I may well have posted the very first picture of a female lacrosse player with a lacrosse stick in hand featuring the handle.

Yes, girls ~ real girls ~ play lacrosse and know how to handle those sticks ~ more practiced than the boys for sure if their mothers made them sweep stuff up from time to time.
