I reckon you'll have to submit a complaint to the author of the book....:)
I was just studying the origins of the nephilim and grigori the other day, and I got into an online debate with this Gnostic dude over it. He had some interesting extra-Biblical information from ancient Egypt and Babel, but the bottom line is the supremacy of Jesus the Messiah's authority. I just kept going back to supreme authority.
As long as we maintain the Lordship of Christ in our lives, and walk closely with Him, we have nothing to fear. Authority in Jesus is a precious thing.
I've had a few direct experiences with demons, they really don't like me. The first time I ever saw one manifest, my pastor cast it out of this girl in a prayer meeting. Since then, my wife and I have seen visions, had dreams, and regularly operate in the prophetic giftings. It's a blast!
So finally, I believe the words of Jesus when He says that the Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole earth, to every nation and tribe. The authority of Heaven will manifest, and then the end shall come. (Matt. 24:14)
Be blessed!
Heh- why do you think when angels show up in the Bible, they always start out with 'fear not!'
Angels are cool, actually. We have them all over the place. We've never seen one, either with our eyes or in a vision, but we see the favor and blessing of God over us all the time. We asked the Lord for them, and He answers our prayers.
My favorite story about angels is when they come to visit Abraham and rescue Lot, right before Sodom is judged.
When angels manifest, it's best to pay attention.
My wife and I were downtown, specifically to serve God one night. Some people had run out of gas, so we ran to the gas station and got them a gallon. After we returned, as I was filling up their tank, a homeless guy came up and asked my wife for some money. Now, here's the weird thing. She didn't get the normal 'vibe' off this guy. She said there was something profoundly different about him- he had a particularly joyful demeanor, and he was soft spoken and polite. There was no smell of alcohol or filth.
She gave him a couple of dollars. When she handed him the money, she said his hands were incredibly rough- like he had these unbelievable callouses on his palms.
She turned around for just a moment, I was maybe ten feet away, filling up these people's car and talking to them about the Lord. When she turned back, the guy was gone. Just not there anymore, and on an open street.
We think that this may have been an angelic test, or an opportunity to sow a blessing of generosity, that we could later receive.
lol I figured I would see you here! I just found this thread. I'm feeling left out!haha
Now this is just weird.
Last year hubby and I were on our way home from the annual biker benefit run for the local Vet's hospital.
We stopped to get gas going out of Martinsburg and a couple came from somewhere behind the gas station and asked hubby for gas money.
He handed them something like a dollar or two.
[he's -very- skeptical about 'beggars tales', as a rule]
I was way off to the side watching all this [gas fumes make me nauseous] and it "bothered" me for some reason.
As they passed by me I silently handed them all the money I had in my pocket...something like $5 or $10.
[I forget exactly...it was my 'pocket dollar stash']....;D
The man grabbed my hand and started thanking me like I'd just won him the WV lottery and the woman kept saying "God bless you!".
[and for some reason, them thanking me like that just embarrassed me to death because the energy coming from them both sort of freaked me out]
I turned to see hubby watching this and he said "what did you do *that* for?!?".
My only answer was "I dunno".
I turned back to them and they'd disappeared.
To this day I do not know why I did it.
It just felt really, *really* important to do so.
Tell your wife I understand the "vibe" thing....:)
I have no idea if they were "otherwordly" or "just starving".
Didn't make any difference to me.
I simply felt an undeniable compulsion to do it.
Here's a "funny" 'flip-side of that coin' story for you.
A couple years back I went to the local mall.
It was pouring rain like crazy.
A man and his very elderly wheel-chair bound mother were stranded on the curb.
He wanted to go get the car and she was apparently terrified to be left alone, even for the minute it would take for him to return.
She was nearly in tears at the very thought of it.
I told him "Hold on!" and ran back to my truck to get my huge "golf" umbrella.
I squatted down and held the lady's hand, comforting her until he came back with the car.
She gripped my hand with the strength only confused fear lends.
As he took her from her chair and put her in the car, I held the umbrella so that she remained completely dry whilst I was getting utterly soaked to the bone.
At the end, the man said I was 'surely an angel'.
Now bear in mind that I was [as usual] dressed completely in black.
"Angels" may not always appear as we think they should and people are not always as they appear.......:)
Have you ever seen the movie "The Bible: In the Beginning" where Peter O'Toole plays all 3 of the angels of the Lord who come to visit Abraham?
It was *the* most awesome part of the whole movie....:)
"Do I have to conclude that beggars that are dirty and smell aren't worth giving to"
All that matters is that they hang out around gas stations.
And, there have been FREEPERS who have affirmed to me privately their own awareness of such things from their own highly classified work.
It certainly is nice of those fellas to talk about their highly classified work in order to help you further along.
Look I believe in alienz too. And I read the book you seem to have got your info from. But perhaps you should take a break from your hard work and get some sunlight.
And apparently I can use some sunlight aswell, I sent the message to the wrong person sorry.
Not at all. The point was, this guy was different- different enough to notice, and to get our attention. The disappearing act was icing on the cake.
Remember, we were out there looking for people to help. The fact that this event happened was confirmation, to us at least, that God was watching, and that He was involved.
Those are awesome stories! The umbrella one is so cool.
Isn't it awesome that miracles are all around us, if we'll just take the opportunity to notice? It's really not hard to live in a supernatural dimension, just living life every day. Jesus is so real to those who will see Him.
And I'll have to get that movie. I haven't seen it.
:)
I do believe in higher beings.
I just think there is no reason to assume every nice person must be something other than human. It gives a very strange impression of the human race...
Every day is a miracle, even if it only appears as a beautiful sunset or newborn puppy.....:)
You are going to *love* that movie.
The "Noah's ark" part alone is priceless.....;D
