Defense attorney Joe Cheshire said at an early evening press conference that a single source was linked to DNA during the testing, but it was identified by Durham police as an unidentified male who was not on the team.

AND

As reported Thursday, the results show a partial DNA match with one of the lacrosse players who has not yet been charged. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Totally conflicting statements.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The grand jury is scheduled to meet Monday, and Nifong will likely seek the indictment of the third suspect with the new report.
SO -- if she had sex before she went there, Nifong is going to indict THAT person too?
Your guess is as good as mine STARWISE. This has to be the weirdest case or rather non-case I have ever followed.
The statements don't conflict. Rather, the earlier report simply didn't have the fact that TWO DIFFERENT DNA TESTS (concerning the sites where DNA was found) were run. Consequently the "newsie" writing up the first story focused on the possibility that a "match" had been found that was meaningful.
