Ok, so she turned out to be a goof-ball and he was blind as a bat to the fact that she was a goof-ball not to mention being slightly batty himself but it didn't end with grieving families and rotting corpses.
So all in all a happy ending.
Yes. The preferred ending, no doubt. But the idiocy of those who bought into this phony baloney tale was amazing.
