Jack Nicholson and even Robert Mitchum -- both Hollywood bad boys and not really all that physically attractive.

I like them as actors too. They have a certain magnetism that supercedes physical appearance. Two of my fave actors are Gene Hackman and Robert Duvall. Talk about not being physically attractive. But i like their edginess. Their attitudes. I also like (and i know many don't agree) Kevin Costner and Johnny Depp. Costner because he exudes sex appeal all day long and cuz he's the athletic type. Depp cuz he's cute and a terrific actor and because he's edgy.

Agreed re: Hackman and Duvall. What I like particularly about them is that, even in some really bad movies, their performances always seem to shine through. To me, that's talent. And another thing...they might not have been attractive as young men, but they actually seem to be getting better looking with age. Sean Connery is another.
