I am glad to see most FReepers turning away from the brutality that was visited upon this guy. It's amusing to me that over at the obsessed anti-FReeper site CP, the few less shall we say, enlightened posts here are being pointed to as proof of FR's anti-gay barbarity, when in fact I was called a "fag hag" over there when I posted my opinion of Brokeback Mouintain at FR, which was lukewarm rather than all-out negative. They just can't decide which side of the fence they are on over there. :)

We've got a few around here who would say the attackers were merely following Biblical mandates to slay homosexuals.

Yeah. The poster "Consrevative Coulter Fan" wants to kill all homosexuals in American based on Old Testament law.

I saw a thread a few months ago where an Ohio Democrat suggested we should execute homosexuals. I expected to see comments like "must be related to Fred Phelps" etc.

Unfortunately, we had a couple of posters who thought this was a good idea and that we should start executing them immediately.

We never did get a response as to what other Old Testament "crimes" should be punished with death in our American court system. (stealing your neighbor's goat, disrespecting your parents, etc.)

That dude has another one running with a similar theme. Seems fixated with it, for some reason. Now, me, I picture Ann Coulter with Michelle Malkin regularly, though on occasion I'll replace Ann with Angelina Jolie. I mean, it is my fantasy - I can class it up any way I like.

You are sick!

(BTW, I think you forgot about Anna Kournikova.)

Sometimes bad things happen to bad people. Cry me a river.

What a horrible thing to say. It's the same thing the Arab world says after an American is beheaded. You're a disgrace to FR ... if not the whole human race.

I respect people who earn it.

The Homophobe Polezi will be on you like flies on a watermelon.

You sure called that one.

Hey! You! Get off my watermelon!

the behavior was rude and offensive to others. I'm tired of turning my head...A tire iron went too far -- they should have simply been hosed down with cold water as you would with rutting dogs

Hosed down? I see your support of unjustified physical assault isn't limited to drug users. Try doing neck bridges, like I did in high school wrestling practice. You'll strengthen your neck muscles, and turning your head won't tire you so much.

ROTFL. I should have read the article. "Taco Stein", for real?
Any relation to Ben Stein?

Agree completely. It is wrong to physically attack people who have not attacked oneself, no matter where one lives. My other comment about this sad incident is that anybody traveling to Caribbean islands should inform themselves about the cultures. They do not accept blatant demonstration of same sex relationships. They won't bother people who are gay, they just don't want it in their faces. They don't want 'sex tourism' from decadent Americans, either.

Shudder to think. People need to remember when traveling abroad, that they are NOT IN AMERICA. Also that there are places they are not welcome and they should stay away.

It is always curious to me that some of our fellow citizens believe that they can behave so badly, in the eyes of foreigners without result.

I was in Kiev last summer in a very nice restaurant and a fellow citizen was Fing and S9ing like all get out. Had to sidle over to explain to him that whatever else he may have believed, just about everyone in the place spoke English and that he should throttle back.

"and turning your head won't tire you so much."

Oh, getting a hose and cooling down depraved animals who think they have some God-given right to rut in public doesn't tire me at all.

I don't believe in "turning my head" to these public hedonists who are slouching towards gomorrah with their rude, obnoxious, selfish, and immoral behavior.

Not if I have a hose handy.

Even the local police shared mutley's attitude. They had no interest in pursuing the case.

I suspect that one thing that has COMPLETLY gone over everyone's heads here is the fact the CBS News's editioral staff is a nepotistic bunch of Knob-Goblins and Butt-Pirates of the Caribbean, and hence, it's perspetcive is such. Does anyone honestly hold out hope that CBS News will be doing in-depth investigative stories on the "Gay Mafia in the Media"?

How on earth did a 25 year-old who was essentially a page-boy for Dave Letterman so suddenly get promted to such a lofty editorial position within CBS News? I'd be willing to bet guineas to shillings 'twas becasue of his "knee work".

And how do we know that the arrested parties were not simply disgruntled and un-employed Journalists? Hmmmmmmmm?

This is story is called journalism by omission in the trade.

I sincerely hope that when that happens, the so-called "public hedonist" you target is a member of the Pink Pistols, and he is carrying. You might find that your hose just doesn't match up. Have a nice day.

Can't be. According to the article, "He talked his way into jobs with David Letterman and CBS News". And we all know that you're not supposed to talk with your mouth full.

Interesting that he was vacationing with his boyfriend AND a senior producer at CBS News, a 51-year-old who stepped into the fray. What was HE doing there?

I don't know about you, but I've never gone on a Caribbean vacation with my wife AND my boss.

Mayhaps there was a contest to see who could best impersonate Johnny Depps role of "Jack Swallow" from Pirates of the Caribbean fame? And as is always the case in such instances....things just got a little out of hand, if you pardon the pun...
