Muttly Official SuperComputer not presently capable of downloading video feeds over pesky telephone wire, but if he could, would be holding forth on Mosrite guitars and fretboard radius, etc., finally trump himself with clever reference to Sandy Nelson.

Ebb Tide, baby.

Carry on.

[BTW, old friend encountered Buddy Rich (ultimate Surf drummer, since passing of ..uh...stumble over the day....whew...one...two three..four...O.K., Gene Krupa]/

man, that hurt

..oh right. So Buddy had apparently sharpened the top rims of his snare drums, like, SHARP edges, like....

RIMSHOT !!!

{new sticks!}

We are watching.

Do your best.

O.K. Moi had a little personal problem during last heroic Post, so...late '60s gifted drummer friend had met/worked with Buddy and reported this.

Same fellow maintained, and Dad confirmed, that in Viet Nam, Dad had discarded his Mattel M-16 (model famed for only being good for hanging your bloody dog tags and .30 caliber-perforated helmet on) in favor of his boyhood-proven Winchester 1894 lever action .30-30....with which he lived, and returned to be an installer for the telephone company, bouncing a "superball" against the walls, to determine where the studs were.

Wasn't it the Surfari's that did Wipeout?

To be performed correctly, the drumming should be performed by striking the pointer and middle fingers of both hands on the edge of a school desk. Performance must cease one-split second before the teacher enters the classroom. ;^)

Thanks for the link. It's still great music after all these years.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. My parents had a band when I was a teen, and the drummer - Mike Lee - really knew how to work that one. It was cool to watch. And his wife was the only person I've seen who could actually dance to that!

You're correct. I think the Ventures mainly covered other peoples music.

It was the Surfaris. I saw them perform it in the early 60s, as the opening band, at a local HS concert with Eric Burdon & The Animals. 1965, I think.

The Ventures were the ultimate training band for many a guitarist.I learned a lot by playing them on the record player at half speed.You had the time to figure out the licks,and then speed it up.They did play mostly instrumentals.Dwayne Eddy was another influential guitar player that was Vouge during the 60s.They were great.
