Any computer help out there? I am trying to get an old laptop in working order for my nephew. He is in the hospital fighting leukemia and will be in for several more weeks of chemo. Since he is in isolation (outbreak of Chicken Pox on the cancer ward)and so sick from the chemo, we thought he could use a laptop for some games and to keep in touch with friends and family by email. He is 10 yrs old and been fighting this cancer crap for 5 years.
Best wishes, let us know how everything works out.
Prayers up for Noah.
Go online with your desktop and go to Juno.com. Download a copy of their software to open a free dialup account. Burn it to CD and install it on the laptop. Then you can hook up via dialup connection, create an account and off you go.
The free Juno has thousands of local access numbers you can dial in to and is free by nature of an ad banner that floats on your screen. You can easily move it around the screen and reposition it so it's not in your way.
If Juno.com doesn't have a free version for download anymore, I have a copy of the software at home and use it all the time. Freep mail me and I can provide you an ftp download link later tonight when I get home.
