I heard a rumor that Without Remorse was going to be filmed. Looks like it's not a rumor.

Joaquin Phoenix is going to play John Clark, and John Singleton is directing (2 Fast 2 Furious, Shaft, Boyz in the Hood).

I'm torn - Without Remorse is my favorite Clancy novel.

Oh boy, I hope they do it justice. It's a great book (I just finished reading it). Somehow hearing John Singleton is directing does not inspire much hope in me. Joaquin Phoenix is a good actor, so maybe he will do well. I liked Liev Schreiber better though (he played John in The Sum of All Fears).

What worries me most is it's a long book with a lot of character building. Trying to cram it into a two hour movie...

Personally, I'm not sure there are really a lot of movies I'll be interested in this summer. Looks to be like a less-than-stellar year.

The lack of any extended dialogue from Supes has me worried. I could have dealt with "Superboy", but can he act? Also, Lois looks like she is a high school senior. I liked Margot more.

Spacey as Lex on the other hand...rocks.

Agreed on that point too. And what about Hollyweird's tendency to opine on Vietnam? Vietnam is important to the book, but not the focus by any means...
