Accused Duke lacrosse player Reade Seligmann's attorneys want Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong thrown off the case.
Today, they filed a legal motion specifically asking for it.
"DA Mike Nifong neglected his duty as a prosecutor to seek the truth and a fair prosecution," the defense's motion reads.
The motions were filed just 24 hours before Nifong's Tuesday election in which he's fighting to keep his seat. Nifong is being challenged by former prosecutor Freda Black and private lawyer Keith Bishop
Well, even though Nifong probably needs to be a [i]recluse[/i], the defense motion was probably to [i]recuse[/i] Nifong. We can work on the recluse thing after he gets his sorry a$$ hammered for malicious prosecution.
Many Americans believe the role of the police and the prosecuters is to search for the truth.
The purpose of the police and the prosecution is to build a case.

They found DNA in the woman. It just wasn't from the guys that are being prosecuted. You'd think that a competent prosecutor would want to find out who it came from. But then, this guy is obviously not competent.
At this point, he's certainly not going to get cooperation identifying the perps from the guys who were at the party.
Has the second test come back yet?

Another thing people get confused on, in theory, you are innocent until proven guilty IN A COURT OF LAW.
LEO's tend to assume you're guilty.

If there were any justice, he along with the hooker who falsely accused these guys would be recluses in the state penitiary solitary confinement unit!

Didn't know they were doing a second test. I just heard that the DNA test produced some DNA, but it wasn't from any of the Lacrosse players.
I guess there could be two divergent theories: Either she's lying thru her teeth, and had voluntary sex with other men, or she really was raped, but not by these guys.
I think that as a prosecutor, you act on the assumption that she was raped, as she claims, until you have evidence otherwise. The DNA supports her claims, but it obviously disproves that the Lacrosse players did it. You'd think that the prosecutor would be looking for other possible perps to test. Who else was at the party?
Or maybe you are interested in testing her boy friend.

I've been bitten by one which decided to share my sheets with me.
Pull the bed away from the wall so it's not touching any other wall or furniture; fix the bedcovers so they can't slip off onto the floor; and put two-sided tape around
the bed legs.
That should help keep them away. . .
If you do get bit, smother the bite with MSM powder.
It neutralizes the posion. (You can find the powder at any health food store; it may be in capsule form so you'll have to break open the capsules and mix the powder into a paste.)
Keep a poltice of the powder on the wound.
You'll still get some damage, but it won't be as bad.
If the NBP were hoping to project a threatening image, this event is a failure. It only emphasizes their lack of a following, and their public spokesmen must give the NEA stalwarts ulcers.
