Accused Duke lacrosse player Reade Seligmann's attorneys want Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong thrown off the case.
Today, they filed a legal motion specifically asking for it.
"DA Mike Nifong neglected his duty as a prosecutor to seek the truth and a fair prosecution," the defense's motion reads.
The motions were filed just 24 hours before Nifong's Tuesday election in which he's fighting to keep his seat. Nifong is being challenged by former prosecutor Freda Black and private lawyer Keith Bishop
Do you have any idea if the Navy has to reveal her reason for discharge if lawyers request it?

It looks to me like the recusal aspect of this was devised to throw the election against Nifong, because if there are enough dumb black voters who think Nifong might be kicked off the case, they might vote for Bishop.
The defense lawyer should have asked for a dismissal based on prosecutorial misconduct.
He gave a interview with Greta and he had a problem with his ear piece and keep saying scuse me to her.
And all before she turn 30. ;)
And part of it was because he didn't understand Greta speaking the English language.
Well even if what the media has presented so far is 80% wrong and 20% right, that 20% coupled with her arrest records, psych problems and prior accusals would be enough to dismiss this case IMO
I don't just want the case dismissed though. I want it shown these 2 guys are innocent period! That is probably too much to hope for, unless the new DNA test (Untampered with) points to someone else.
If it (DNA) is inconclusive Nifong will be even more diligent to prosecute.

Was listening to Sean in the kitchen, but this radio here will only pick up 680. Some call in to Bill Lamay was a total hardship on the ears. Claiming to be "conservative" and "republican" and a total, I mean like total "seminar caller". Oh those rapes at Duke before this one! I wanted Bill to ask her: Yeah? How many convictions?

The Caller is such a liar. And so rough and unpleasant to listen to. Her Whine was at Decibel Max. blech. Wah, Wah, Wah.
Oh. And also claimed to be a resident of Durham.
As far as we know, there was only one husband. They got married some eight or nine years ago and were married a brief time (less than a year). Since this claim about the husband trying to kill her was in '98, either the complaint was about that husband (who may have actually been an ex-husband at that point) or a common-law husband (I don't know offhand if NC recognizes common-law marriages at all or just those which arise in states that do recognize them).
At any rate, apparently the motion also claims that the allegation was found to be a false accusation. If accurate, this is actually more valuable to the defense than the earlier rape allegation, but also adds weight to the likelihood that the earlier rape allegation was false. I wonder who the assistant prosecutor was who handled that case. It would be quite interesting if it was Nifong. Mangum failed to show up for court, so the matter was dismissed. Was the dismissal for insufficient evidence, or was there a factual finding that it was a false accusation?

She said that her ex-husband tried to kill her.
This is an unstable woman who clearly hates men; she needs to be removed from society before she ruins more lives. A lengthy stay in a psych ward sounds about right.

ABC11 is confirming she accused her ex-husband of trying to kill her in 1998.
Wouldn't that have been about the same time she went to Creedmoor Police and said she was raped by three guys?

Do you (or anybody) know what the nature of the complaint was that she made to the sheriff's office in regard to the nursing home? The reason I ask is because I wonder if a pattern of intimidation can be shown in which she files false reports to intimidate somebody into doing what she wants, not just as a retaliatory measure or because she has mental issues.
