In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
ingrate; noun
n : a person who shows no gratitude [syn: thankless wretch, ungrateful person]

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

In the original joke, the word was "indifferent," which, actually, is a lot funnier.
The Houston Comical (what a rag) reports that today's illegal immigrant rallies will include VOTER REGISTRATION activities....

Same here Mikrofon. My family lost everything they had when they immigrated here, even knowing they might be turned away. It took years to be granted citizenship!

A+ i wonder how many leftists took the day off here to celebrate solidarity with their illegal brethren. i will not drive anywhere near the situs to make that call, though!
Or boycott businesses that HAVE to close because they have illegally hired staff in the first place.
i think i am probably pretty naive but i just don't think we have as many employers hiring illegals here as you probably do down there. i know i could be very wrong about that.
I'm going to drive by a few housing developments and see if there is any work going on.

I don't take the Chronicle but wonder if anyone will write in complaining that they are registering illegals to vote?
The Comical doesn't react well to those who are not in full agreement with its agenda. My experience is that any letter to them will either be ignored or draw a snippy e-mail from one of their little lefty pissant staffers.
