We're just a couple of football junkies.
LOL, things could be a lot worse.
We could be living in Detroit or NO.

What I found so far in one box....
1962 Hank Aaron
1962 Warren Spahn
1962 Brooks Robinson
I think a 1962 Roger Marris/Cash/Mantle/Kaline "AL Bombers"
1962 Stan Musial
1954 Willie Mays "Most Valuable Player"
Warren Spahn "59 Allstar Selection"
1962 Sandy Koufax
1959 or 1960 Carl Yastrzemski
1972 Nolan Ryan (I have his rookie somewhere)
1961 Harmon Killebrew
1961 Don Larsen
1961 Don Drysdale
1971 NL RBI Leaders "Joe Torre,Willie Stargell,Hank Aaron"

Wow! You have quite a few very nice ones in your collection. I wonder what they would be worth.
Ever look up their value?

A long time ago, before card collection became really popular.
I have a newspaper from the early 1960's I think, with all the starters for the Baltimore Colts that year. It had Johnny Unitas (I found his 1959 call after my last post along with OJ Simpson's, Fran Tarkenton, Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, and a few more rookies),Raymond Berry, Lenny Moore, Alan Ameche, etc. I'll try and make a copy of it. I have a large format scanner at work that I use but its black and white only.
I found it when my sister moved into her new house at the time, they former owners had a crab shack on the back of their garage and a whole stack of newspapers. I don't think they used it for a long time or those papers wouldn't have been their. They used it to start the wood stove.

You and I must be close to the same age. Sounds like we did some very similar things.
I'm 55.

Actually, I'm 42.
I got a lot of my cards from an older kid in my neighborhood when I was about 9 years old. The guy wanted $5.00 for about 8 boxes of cards. He wasn't into them anymore and just wanted to get rid of them.
I asked my mother for the money and she gave it to me because I never ever ask for money so she knew I really wanted it. After that I started collecting on my own, buying boxes and boxes of sets as they came out each year.
Eventually I too grew tired of them and put them away. This is the first time I have had them out in years.

If only's
If only I had bought stock in Microsoft in the early '80's I could retire right now, lol. It is funny how things of little value end up worth a lot of money, like cards or comics.
I have a friend who bought a really old victorian home that needed work. He found coins stuffed in the walls, tons of them.

Pack rats.
We had an old guy die who lived across the hill from me about 10 years ago. Everyone thought he was a poor bum.
When they checked out his home they found hundreds of thousands of dollars stuffed into the mattress and EVERYWHERE!
The guy would stuff newpaper in his shoes when the soles wore out because he was too cheap to buy new shoes.

lol!
Thats funny!
You hear about those stories from time to time. I see advertisements in the paper by people who will come and clean a home of a deceased person at the request of the Estate Executor. I can just imagine what they find and sneak out of the house without mention.
I live in PA. and go to auctions from time to time and the Amish auctions always have really old items. They have a lot of farming equipment too and the items look 100 years old. I just walk on by those items.
I like to torment bidders by continually holding my hand in the air as the bidding is happening, I get the dirtiest looks from other bidders.
Mom tried to raise me well, or the best she could! lol

The Amish band together at auctions. The word is spread that one of them wants a certain item and none of the others will bid on it.
No wonder they give you dirty looks. LOL!

I never thought of that, I'll stay away from the farm equipment when bidding, they might turn on me and grab some farm tools. lol

Cleveland did ok. < It wasn't a blockbuster draft for them, but it didn't have to be.
Actually, Fox Sports loves it:4. Cleveland: Browns GM Phil Savage probably got the most value pick-by-pick than any team in the NFL. They needed a young pass rusher and selected Kamerion Wimbley from Florida State while moving to grab Maryland linebacker D'Qwell Jackson, who was the defensive player of the year in the ACC last season. Receiver Travis Wilson had a strong Senior Bowl. Miami linebacker Leon Williams definitely fits Romeo Crennel's 3-4 scheme while Washington State running back Jerome Harrison led the Pac-10 in rushing last season while scoring 16 touchdowns. Savage may have taken the best fullback in the draft with Lawrence Vickers. Grade: A
They don't even mention the 6th rounder we got from Baltimore for letting them take Ngata, Babatunde Oshinowo. He benched more than Ngata and scored a 37 on the Wonderlic.
