Well, you are the guy. Oops! Was that a sexist stereotype? :-O
It is a Compaq Presario, about 5 years old, running Windows NE professional.
If the exact model number is needed, than will have to find the tag as the paperwork has been lost.
Any help is appreciated and please ping her.
Thanks in advance.
will be in contact with you both in next day or so with some "background" stuff for your thread.
843 was for you also
Always grateful for your help, Dolly.
You have many irons in the fire at once, all the time. I don't know how you keep up.
NE?
Do you mean XP or NT?
There's NT3.x, NT4, Windows 2000 Pro, and XP.
IIRC, there was no NE.
Probably NT and I had misunderstood over the phone.
NT4?
I know I forgot this yesterday in my post, but could it also be ME? (Millenium Edition)
She said it was ME professional.Sorry for the confusion,my fault.
If so, I'd recommend doing that. But first, I'd download and burn a copy of Slax--run that in the CD drive and you should be able to access the drive and pull off any important files. (If you need directions on where to go and/or what to do--don't hesitate to FReepmail me.)
Why? Just about any action you take will probably result in the loss of your data--so it's a good idea to pull them off just in case.
I personally don't recommend using Windows ME--if possible, I say she should consider upgrading to Windows XP. My mom had it on her Dell, and upgraded shortly after XP came out.
Well, I have some good news about Boo, he is drink on his own and he just started eating on his own. He eats a little bit each time but I think he's been at the food over 20 times today. This is the first time he ate in almost a week. I know I'm not out of the woods yet but it looks like I could be headed that way. He is also walking around a lot, meowing, he even greeted me when I walked in from work. This morning, he hopped up to the sink to pester me while I shave. He'd better be careful there, the vets shaved part of his front legs to stick IV's into him, he looks like a poor excuse of a John Kerry French Poodle. B-) He sang with me in the bathroom as I showered too. Well, I just hope and pray he is on the mend. I know is is a little up there in years at 16 but he is a true friend.
thanks for update! we worry so much about our furry friends...
Sounds to me like Boo is going to be his old self again in two or three days.
This is the best news I have had about anything in quite some time and I'm very happy to hear such great news!
Go, Boo!
And you're a heck of a cat doctor, NM.
Thanks for the compliments all. I'd like to say more but I had to deal with a detractor on another thread and report him to the mods for abuse that took a while. I'm off to bed now, got to work and it is year end closing this month and already things are getting hectic. Right now, he is eating and Mom reported him purring again. He only eats for a minute or so, drinks, and then goes on. He basically nibbles every so often, probably over 20 times today. Well, night all!
Talk to you soon and please keep me posted.
You and Boo are in my thought often. And my prayers.
night!
