OK, I'm thinking about a scooter. Any suggestions? (Vanity)

I'm looking at the dealer sites and was wondering if there's any FReepers who have any experiences with them.

Yeah, I was just looking at those this morning. They don't look half bad.

Always had a love for the Cushman Eagle scooters. Here's a restored 1959 Eagle. Worth roughly $5,000.
Aw hell. This thread died fast.

Vespa's are still the coolest!

No way I'd take that on the road with other cars... they can't even see you in the next lane.

Well, I did some calculating...
I average $20.00 a week getting to and from work at 15 miles each way fro four days. That's about $100.00 a month.
I looked online at a lot of models and found this one quoted at about $70.00 a month in payments.
I called my auto insurance to get a quote and they said coverage would average about $12.00-$20.00 per month.
Decisions...decisions....

Here's another pic.
It's a bike from a Japanese cartoon movie called, "Akira," that was released in 1988.

We bought a Honda Helix - it has a 250cc engine and will go up to 73 mph with both me and husband riding it. Of course if you will be the only one riding you could probably find something smaller and cheaper. I love riding the Helix and we get 70 miles per gallon. Yesterday, I thought the guy behind me at the gas station was going to cry when I asked for $6 in gas We bought it last September and have put over 5,500 miles on it so far. Insurance is $80/year.

I was looking at those as well. Hopefully, I will get to go to a dealership today and do some asking. Seventy miles per gallon is sweet, IMHO.

I forgot to mention it also has a decent sized trunk - we can fit two 12-packs of pepsi in it so it's possible to use it for trips to the store/mall. Still, it might be larger and more expensive than what you need for one person. We like to take it on trips and so went with a bigger model.
My husband convinced me to purchase it because of the miles per gallon but I've really come to enjoy the riding experience. There's never any problem finding a parking space and we just by pass traffic jams. If we lived farther south and didn't have to deal with winters we would ride it year round and do without one of our cars.

Who makes this scooter? Looks pretty clean.
