(We should probably tell lurkers who may not know this history that a black militant communist group held a demonstration in Greensboro, NC two or three decades ago. They were met by alleged KKKers. A good handful of the black militant commies were carried away in body bags. I don't believe any of the shooters were ever caught.)

Do I recall something that was posted on FR way early on in this case about the police force involved in prostitution?

Believe me, I could be very very wrong, but I thought I read something. It would take me days to find it. Somehow you guys find things in a minute. Don't know how you do it. If you don't recall it, then I must have come across news, maybe while googling, of some other police force somewhere being corrupt in that matter.

November 1979. The Communist Workers Party (CWP) of Durham (!) had scheduled a protest march in Greensboro that ended up in a shootout with a KKK/Nazi group.

There was a trial of some of the KKK/Nazi people. The official verdict was "not guilty" all around possibly due to someone with the CWP firing first. The unofficial verdict was the KKK/Nazis were better marksmen than the CWP.
