It is the cult of the athlete. They get away with the little things, and some of them extrapolate.

Is this the QB from Mission Viejo, CA? The Mission Viejo football boys are very privileged. They think they can get away with anything. They need to form a quick acquaintance with reality. Athletes are no longer above the law.

Uh buckeye...I happen to be from Mission Viejo and happen to know that Sanchez is a damn nice kid who comes from a damn nice family...head and shoulders above some of the hoods and thugs recruited by Ohio State for example. What has probably happened here is some bimbo got payed to play "hide the weenie" with Sanchez then blow the whistle similar to the Duke LaCross thing. Don't worry, in a couple years "privileged" Mark Sanchez will be knocking the s#!t out of Ohio State as USC starting QB.

Wow. Your animosity is unwarranted. I live in SoCal and know how the Mission Viejo guys are treated. It is entirely possible that the girl is lying. I always hope the truth comes out, whatever it may be. But you must admit that the Mission Viejo football team is always treated with kid gloves in Southern California. I have no connection with Ohio State but, yes, I love it when the Buckeyes win. Go Bucks!

How so? Just curious.

For a fact, they cheat at football and only get a slap on the wrist. Most of the other teams in the Southern CIF conferences really dislike Mission Viejo. That's not to day that maybe some nice kids do play on their teams. It's just that they (as a team)are rarely held to much account for their transgressions. It makes for intense rivalries. I'd wager that when Mission Viejo is playing in any conference final, the whole of SoCal (excluding of course Mission Viejo's supporters)is rooting for the other team. No matter how much the rest of them may dislike the other team, too.

OK Buckeye. I assumed from your name that you're from Columbus. In any case I'm Buckeye fan too in spite of the thugs they let into the place. I don't think the MV athletes get treated any better than any other group with the same dedication to excellance. They're damn good at what they do.

I agree that individual athletes do not get preferential treatment. Is the Coach still Bob Johnson? I haven't followed high school football in several years. I just remember the LA Times and Daily News stories. And, you're right, MV wins most of the time.
