why is this a problem.I'll wager that Bill Clinton spanked an intern or two while commanding White Trash One.

I know what the judgement is going to be:
"Bailiff, whack the CEO's pee-pee!"

"The spankings also were used to increase productivity from its work force," Even my boss would see this as a quick path to sudden death.
The article boils down to:
It was consensual. Both men and women got 'spanked'
It was a facetious exercise.
Too many lawyers chasing a lawsuit

Ok I know my tagline say that the problem with bad ideas is that they seemed like good ideas at the time but what part of spanking people at work sounded like a good idea at the time?

LOL!! I work with/for family in a family business. Dad is pushing 70 and I still have to dodge a thrown wrench every now and again if I screw off too much (like now). He would be all for smacking my ass to get me motivated if it would work...

"Team-building" is evil. Generally it's just a way for middle management to humiliate the employees while getting bonuses from the top executives for being "proactive."
Of course, the last team-building exercise I was on was seventeen years ago. And we ended up doing $3,000 of damage to the hotel and conference center...
