Hey guys - I've encountered a strange problem with FAH that just manifested itself over the last week. When either of my Windows systems finishes a WU and successfully sends back the results, it then can't get a new WU to process unless I stop the service and then restart it. Then it chugs along fine until it finishes it, sends back the results, and tries to get a new WU - then it repeats the whole process. Here's a glance at the relevant portion of a log showing what happens - it just keeps retrying until I shut it down and restart it:
[00:09:34] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[00:09:34] + Attempting to get work packet
[00:09:34] - Connecting to assignment server
[00:09:35] - Successful: assigned to (171.64.122.136).
[00:09:35] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
[00:09:35] Loaded queue successfully.
[00:09:35] Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet)
[00:09:35] + Could not connect to Work Server
[00:09:35] - Error: Attempt #1 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.
Any ideas on what's causing this?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I've encountered a similar anomaly, as well. Mine will hang at attempting to send, then I shut it down and restart it, it sends. It also hangs at retrieving until I shut it down and restart it. Sometimes I need to manually download new projects and that seems to clear it up.
I've been thinking it was a connection issue, since it's on a tablet pc I keep running in my truck using an aircard.
If you figure it out, please let me know, too.
Also, I've got 2 cpu's MIA at home. Wife has rebooted all machines, but it still doesn't appear. Maybe I'll have to go home to find out what's up.
:O)

Any ideas on what's causing this? The one time that happened to me, it was an issue with their server. But it only lasted through the weekend (I guess they fixed it on Monday AM ?).

One of my fastest machines has been down for a couple of weeks because of the problem you describe. I have yet to find a solution.
