Two upcoming concerts are unique in that they are being held at places less common for their venues. Unfortunately, they are both being held on the same evening, April 22, then fortunately, they are two different types of music and therefore will probably appeal to many music lovers.
Barefoot to play at Kidd-Key
Three hometown boys have put together a band that, according to fans, could break into the big time any day now. Barefoot will be playing from 7 p.m. until whenever at the Kidd-Key Auditorium in Sherman April 22.
Jason Dering, Matt Fellenbaum, and Clay Jones graduated from Sherman High School in 2000, and have been together ever since, joined by two Richardson musicians, Chris Pearson and Chris Munselle. Together, they belt out a blend of Texas and Southern rock and British pop, many songs of which are their own, having penned four or five dozen songs for their upcoming CD, due for release soon.
Dering plays drums and sings backup vocals, Fellenbaum plays bass guitar, Jones is on lead electric guitar and sings backup vocals, Munsell plays rhythm electric guitar and sings backup, and Pearson is the lead singer, plays rhythm acoustic guitar and keyboards.
Dering said their voices together are a blend of four-part harmonies.
We went overseas and worked with two Swedish producers in Sweden, Dering said. Our management label liked the music (cut there) and told us to stay in Sweden and finish the album. Back in the U.S., we went on tour, opening for Ashlee Simpson and are working on another album right now.
Special guests at the Barefoot concert will be Friend of Nick, and Matt Porter.

Their debut CD should be released this summer, and you can hear some of their material on the website ( www.barefootr-band.com ).
The following shows are scheduled:
4/28 Dallas (The Door)
4/29 College Station (Vick's Country Pavillion)
5/4 Lubbock (TBA)
Now, that's News.
That's the best place to find Swedish producers, I've heard.
And you've got to go overseas to get there.

Will they be on a double bill with Pregnant?
This is too much. I feel kinda dizzy - maybe I'd better sit down for awhile until the shock of this exciting news wears off.
I haven't been this a-twitter since the 35th expended Natalee Holloway Tread started. ;)
Just you wait for #36.
You may have to take some sedatives just to handle the excitement!
I'm wondering if "Chained to the Stove" is going to reach the piano.
Not really. The poster is an old-timer. This just got posted in the wrong place, is all.

Matt Porter don't care
Oh, never mind them. They're just stuck in the 60's sex-drugs-rocknroll gerbil wheel. Still listening to the Doors and CCR, how much fun is that?
Thanks for the info, I'll be lookin' for 'em. ;o)
Speaking of secular rock bands comprised of Christians, ever heard of Vigilantes of Love?
Only because Milli Vanilli is defunct.
Did I mention they are on the Geffen label? I guarentee you WILL hear of them in the very near future.

For my own info, what would have been a preferred place to post this in? I have made bigger mistakes in the past and would like not to repeat them! <:-O

Bloggers/Personal or General/Chat, I think. I'm not a Moderator here, so I don't know for sure. I do know that News/Activism probably isn't the place for it.
