..... "I'll tell you how I knew my marriage was over," he continues flatly, tugging at his black T-shirt. "I was told." .... Before his wife's revelation, Lachey believed they were working through "a tough phase." Simpson had her own agenda, which may or may not have been orchestrated by her father, Joe, a man so displeased with his daughter's marriage to Lachey that he could barely smile at the wedding.....

I think he is desperate to keep his sad ass in the news right now. He is divorced from the only thing that made him newsworthy(if you can call it that).

It sounds like Joe Simpson had something to do with their breakup. Joe wants his daughters to be stars, but only on his terms.

Shoot, he'll get half the money she made while they were married. He'll spend the rest of his life, sleeping with gorgeous starlets, telling them he can make them stars like he did Jessica.

It will be like he's put out to stud. Not a bad life. :-)

Please. Nick couldn't even make himself a star. Joe's marketing, the novelty of being a virgin bride and Jessica's modern day "Chrissy Snow" act made her a star.

I did not mean he could do it. He'll only use it as a line to pick up chicks. Hell, OJ Simpson still gets beautiful women. Never underestimate the stupidity of people.

When these two got married, Nick had a much larger career than Jessica. Joe Simpson told Nick that Jessica would not marry him if he wanted her to sign a prenuptial agreement. Nobody thought Jessica's career would explode like it has. Now Nick is entitled to half of everything she earned during the time they were together, and it bein California, he has a good shot at getting paid alimony. In that case, Joe outsmarted himself.
