You can read the article and watch the video yourself. It is the VOICE-OVER of the ANNOUNCER which "summarizes" her interview answer into saying "they left the party".

It makes one wonder if in the pre-interview, KR made the statements and the reporter carried over to the article or if as you say the MSM is doing it's best to keep these characters in sync when they can't do it on their own....

That's too bad, because you really can't appreciate the full glory that is Kim without watching the interview! She definitely is a character. LOL.
