I hope your predictions don't come true because Mr. Nifong is largely responsible for the tremendous increase in racial tension in this town.

(I know that there were racial tensions before this case.)

Mr. Nifong may end of being prosecuted himself as I believe it may be illegal to discuss a case all over the media and especially BEFORE anyone was even charged.

If African Americans think that Nifong is "on their side" they should think again. It seems to me that this man is on his own publicity tour and that is not good for anyone in this town, regardless of race.

I am proud to be a citizen of Durham because I have not witnessed people jumping the gun and despising their neighbors of a different race, despite the increasing attention from Jesse Jackson and the horrible hate flyers that ended up in my neighborhood.

I will be even prouder still when the citizens of Durham drop the racial thing and focus on getting to the truth.

Again, I am so proud to be a citizen who lives in a racially diverse neighborhood. If anything I think my neighbors who are a different race than me have gone out of their way to be NICER to me.

I hope nobody actually believes that Mr. Nifong, who seems to be a member of "the good ole boys club in Durham" is prosecuting this for the sake of the African American community. That would be a disgrace.

I think there is already enough to refer this case to the DOJ's Civil Rights Division to inquire into the prosecution's tactics. As I understand it, all of the players were required to submit DNA samples pursuant to a court order. Since any DNA samples found on the AV weren't going to go anywhere, a reasonable and prudent investigation would have attempted FIRST to determine with certainty exactly WHO was present at the party. My readings indicate that as a FACT, some of the players were NEVER present at the party. Thus, some of them were forced to comply with a court order even though they could not possibly have been involved. And since the lone black player wasn't compelled to give a sample, it becomes a "suspicious because you're white" court order.

Next, I would look at the information that Nifong gave 50 interviews. I think this was reckless, unethical, and unprofessional. His only statement should have been to the effect that an investigation was continuing, and that no further statements would be issued.
