Heh...I was rather expecting the post following yours to be one from OT saying "Gooooood kitty!"
They get stressed easily, the little critters. I can remember a LOT of times when we rescued a seemingly unhurt bird from the cats, only to have it die moments later.
I remember once in nursing school, a ruby-throated hummingbird hit the window of the dorm, knocked it out and I ran out and got it and held it for a while, gently rubbing it with my fingertip...eventually it recovered it's wits, sat perched in my hand for a bit and flew off! My dorm-mates were astounded and everyone said it was a sign that I was supposed to be a nurse!
Maybe I shoulda been a vet instead.
