PE thinks he is somewhat lactose intolerant too. He avoids drinking milk, but loves cheese.

Hmm, this Maker's Diet book advocates goats milk. I have had it ONCE and it was decidedly ~not~ my favorite drink.

Was it carton or fresh?

I don't care for carton goat milk, but fresh is delicious!
