That's why God created candlelight. We haven't entertained during daylight hours for years.

Soft lighting can hide a multitude of sins. ;-)
Not sure it could do much about the seventies coloring, though. Those look pretty bad in any light. They'll be retro in a year or two, though, I betcha.
