The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

being American means being a mutt even if your ancestors all came from the same speck of land.

And in some parts... even from the same family...

***ponders entire Hobbit Hole coming in costume***

Tolkien costumes, or Elvis costumes? Or... Tolkien/Elvis costumes... Hey...

"Elvis of the Rings". Elvises in Middle Earth costumes. Little Elvises with furry feet. Tall Elvises with pointy ears. Elvises with swords...

Gandalf Elvis, Sauron Elvis...

Brilliant!!!

The Blue Suede Shoes of Power? We must return them to the Heartbreak Hotel from whence they came. But we cannot find Frodo. Frodo has left the building.

That's ok. The only thing I care about being unique and completely my own is the groom ;-)

Hmmm... I think you're the only one so far not to score pretty high on hedonism. You may have to leave.

You scored as Justice (Fairness). Your life is guided by the concept of Fair Justice: Everyone, yourself included, should be rewarded and punished according to the help or harm they cause.

"He who does not punish evil commands it to be done."
--Leonardo da Vinci

Though force can protect in emergency, only justice, fairness, consideration and cooperation can finally lead men to the dawn of eternal peace.
--Dwight D. Eisenhower

I was hoping to score higher on apathy, but it just didn't seem worth the effort.

I'll hafta try this test thing eventually...

For now, I'm feeling hedonistic and don't want to drive to Puyallup tonight. But I'm gonna do it anyway. Least I get food out of the deal.

There are a lot of Divinely Commanded Hedonists though. Hey, it's like the Bible says, "Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow you die".

Werks fer me...

Prayer partners...I have applied for a job with a Christian publishing house...in the warehouse. If the Lord wants me there, great. If not, I'll keep driving car parts to body shops.

No, it does not involve a move.
