The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, it looks like neither is harmful to the tree.

I don't get why it says 'it's too late to spray when you see the gall... Why not just cut the thing off - at least all the ones you can reach?

I'll be, g'nad! Learn somethin' new ever day.

Hey, y'all gettin' rain? We got a bit here, but north Tulsa got hammered pretty hard, apparently. We were up there at OSU-Tulsa (picking up Steve's cap, gown and hood) when it started getting REALLY black outside. We made a mad dash home and it went just north of us...literally chased to a mile from our house. The dust cloud was incredible...it looked like a horror movie! Absolutely black waves of dust that you could hardly see through.

More rain is coming...Lord knows we need it in a bad way.

Seems rather extreme for a wasp.

Just sent an e-mail about a washer and dryer...they look a little old, but not terribly so.

It's sad, but one reason I really, really want one is so I can stick stuff in the dryer to de-wrinkle it if need be in the mornings. Bit overkill, but it's great for lazy folkses like me. ;-)
