I see that the DUers were let out of the cages again. :-/
Evening :~D We went on a trail ride today, and we're beat :~)
You talkin' bout Bear and his spam? :~D
Hey - heard the place is great, that it goes on and on :~D
So now you can buy lots and lots of stuff :~D
I wish I was.
Ugh.
Thanks for the ping! I want to see Cars, too. I think our family will enjoy this one. The last movie we all went together to see was LOTR-ROTK (I took the kids to see Narnia and HP: Goblet of Fire, but PE declined to attend :-)
In other news, bittygirl has croupy cough and fever. Gave her some dimetapp and motrin for now. We'll see how she fares in the waking hours. She is breathing okay, so no steam treatments yet. karateboy starts VBS later this morning. I am so vey glad I did not volunteer now that bittygirl is sicky.
Corin is a
Sorry to hear bittygirl isn't feeling well. Although, sometimes I think it's worse for the parents. ;-)
I'm home today, it's Mom's last day visiting with us. She goes to my brother's house tonight. We're having a cookout this afternoon with the hole fam. Hope the cool weather holds. It'd be great for the little'uns to run around in the back yard.
Good morning! It's looking like a nice day here. I get to move into a cubical by myself today. After work I'm going to talk to a florist. This should be a long day... oh well.
Ive never had a list of desired characteristics for the "ideal wife". I have had, in general , just a few: shared faith and values, shared interests actually, I was willing to accept "shared disinterests", so that neither would take time away from the relationship doing something the other didnt like.
I would have thought it enormously unrealistic to write a personals ad like the following:
"SWM SEEKS SWF: Must be left-handed,
traditional Christian, politically conservative,
practically a Bush-bot, born in July 1964 to
a military veteran father born in 1938 and
mother born in spring 1941 whose parents
later split up, who prefers classical and
traditional forms of music and prefers to
attend church where it's heard, likes Chinese
food, good books, cats, and children."
(Those who know me well know that those are my stats and characteristics.)

For years I had prayed, "Lord, whoever You have for me, keep her in health and happiness; take even better care of her than You have of me; bring us together in Your time," etc.
For years, I had occasionally prayed, "Lord, Im going to trust You not merely to fit my list, but to make the list Yourself, knowing me as You do, knowing what I actually need and rightly desire."
One day in May, I found myself complaining in prayer. I do that from time to time, as in "I appreciate all Youve done, and I know its more than I deserve; I know You can do all things, if You want to do them; I wish You wanted to do such-and-so "
The Monday after Mothers Day I found myself praying in that mode. (I didnt take note of the date at the time, but figured it out afterward.)
"Lord, Im 41 years old, and I dont know my wifes name."
Tuesday, the same thing.
And Wednesday.
Likewise Thursday morning.
Thursday, May 18, 2006. I came home from work to find a message from my friend Faith, asking me to call her. I did so, with some trepidation; the previous such call had been to hear that her daughter, my adopted niece Emily, had broken her arm.
This time, Faith had a name and a phone number for me.
A Name.
So far, everything that has happened in the 25 days since-- two weekends, a couple of funny cards, and 20+ hours on the phone-- has been in confirmation.
It's waaaay too soon to act on it, but I did pop a question Saturday...in the evening after the above pic was taken..."may I refer to you as 'my girlfriend', knowing that will require you to refer to me as 'my boyfriend'?" She said yes :)
Those who have been with me through this before, this one's better, has gone on longer, and we began with much more in common.
I believe I know my wife's name, and it's only a matter of time. If I don't, I am very much decieved. Pray for us.
I don't know why some of you insist on posting 24 spoilers when you know I've been busy :p
OH Dear XGI, I wish you all the best :~D
Good luck to you both :~D
Good morning, it has been awhile since your morning pings! Have a good time with your mom today :~D
Prayers and hopes XGI.
;-)
Now that's cool...
Good morning!
My Neighbors with Pit Bull Across the Street (NPBAS) have begun parking their dump truck in their front yard. I'm talking DUMP TRUCK...it dwarfs the house. It's a massive gigantic industrial-sized dump truck. They park it in the front yard every evening and take it to work (I guess) every morning.
It's rutting up their yard and our little neighborhood street won't take much abuse from it for long.
Sigh.
You could trying tying some cans to the dump truck. Pop cans probably won't work though. Garbage cans.

Mornin' evellybody!
I'm celebrating the first morning cuppacoffee in thenewhouse. Everything seems to be in order. Thenewhouse seems to be working according to spec.
[sip]
Prayers up for ya, XGI.
It took me 33 years to find* the right guy (with a few wrong turns on the way), but if that's what I had to go through to find myself exactly where I am now - it was worth every minute. :-)
*Well, I knew he was the right guy years ago, but that's besides the point. ;-)
Good morning, honey!
How'd ya sleep?
Here, I'll sip a cyber-cup with you, my friend and we'll both contemplate all the things Ruthy will do to make the place a home.
~puts feet up and commences contemplating~
