It's just so sad.
I'm so sorry your kitten didn't make it. It was such a kindness for you to take her in and feed her and love her for even a few days. Have no doubts or regrets, you did what needed to be done, even though the results weren't what we wished.
It's tragic is what it is.
I wonder what happened to her though. It seems that in her frail state, a car would have killed her on the spot.
Prolly better that it remain a mystery.
Yeah - I don't want to imagine. Maybe it was nothing sinister at all, it just happened.
I'm just screaming to call back and change my mind, though I'm sure it's too late. I didn't think she'd die when I left her.
Had this song going through my mind a lot when the girls were killed. I don't talk to too many people about how bad it made me feel, 'cause most people probably think "Sheesh, they were just chickens!"
They were your chickens, and they contained all the love you put in them.
We expect them to die, like we all die. And we feel sad when they die of old age, but we can be ready for that. But they break our hearts when bad things happen to them. She was just a baby. :~(
Don't feel guilty about that for one minute. She never had a chance from the minute you got her. There was nothing you could have done differently that would have made any difference in the outcome. You did a whole lot more for her than most people would have done and you can be proud of that fact.
considered sometnin' like that, but tuh do that I would have had to cut off three 2x4s in the wall frame, and use a couple 2x6s tuh build a header to spread the load... that wasn't happenin'...
sweet garden 2J... yer way ahead of us on yer plant growth...
yuh did the right thing... I know it's hard... that's all I can say...
here's muh shoulder...
(((Hair)))
I'm sorry.
Why do I have this image of Navin R. Johnson's family saying "you can ride in the back, and we'll put down all the windows..."
She had a sweet, trusting heart. Maybe she wasn't betrayed, maybe it just happened, but dangit, someone should have protected her before I did. It makes me mad. I'm a sobbin' mess, but I do feel good that she had some peace and didn't die as horrible and sick as she would have on her own.
Thank you all, she was deserving of your compassion. :~D
I'm gonna go cuddle with all muhotherpets.
The yellow ones have blossoms and a couple of little tomatoes, but nothing worth mentioning yet.
you know she ain't talkin' tuh us...
goes without sayin'...
{snif} They're the best medicine for an achin' heart. I'm sorry. :-{
even tho' yuh look swollen... and at first glance I thought she said "smell", which would've applied tuh me...
Oh man, that's awful. I'm really sorry about it...
Exactly.
Without you, I shudder to think of what she would have faced, all alone.
You were her Guardian Angel. Be proud of that.
