The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh!We're having a heatwave, a tropical heatwave.

The temperature's rising, it isn't surprising,

she certainly can can-can.

She started a heatwave by letting her seat wave,

in such a way that the customers say

that she certainly can

can-can.

Them Chinese are ~really~ efficient. They managed to kidnap Jack, beat him up, load him on the container ship, and get out to sea in about 3.5 minutes.

Yeah, I wondered about that too. I thought the Port must be awful close to that Industrial Park! ;o)

It would be really cool to see Aaron Pierce as a CTU agent teaming up with Curtis to rescue Jack.

That WOULD be sweet!

I was wondering who was going to be the first one to get the reference. It's one of my favorites from childhood.

Some group has a "Make Way for Ducklings" luncheon every year. Moms will take their little kids to it, though we never did. I had a friend who took two of her younger kids in one year.

It was fun seeing those statues.

I missed the reference. But I've seen the ducks...

I remember Captain Kangaroo reading the story.
