The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, summer graduates can attend too and even walk the commencement, but it sure would be nice to actually have it behind us when he does it!

And he's working like he's graduating this semester!

The advisor gave him his paper back and it had a few "more" red marks, but nothing Steve can't fix today. The other guys on the committee haven't returned the paper to him yet and likely won't...they didn't have as many red marks on it in the first place. Steve likely has already taken care of everything they wanted fixed.

The formatting dude that has been so helpful said "Come back Wednesday." Hopefully there won't be too much to repair as far as formatting.

We're optimistic, but extremely pressed for time! Heh heh!

2J, check out whether they let summer graduates "walk" in the spring. Then if he technically graduates in August he can still be at the commencement...

Oklahoma went all Red, you know, in 2004...I don't know if any other state did, but Oklahoma sure did!

Yes, he can. It will be a shame, because he will literally miss it only by days...maybe even hours...but that may be what happens.

If he finishes and gets that paper in by May 5th...the Friday before commencement, he'll be considered a summer graduate, but not to me. He'll be DONE and that's all I want.

Exactly! It'll be all over. It won't matter any more.

Steve seems to think he's free and clear though, sis...he's very upbeat. The meeting with the formatting guy was very encouraging. He really made Steve feel like it was possible. And that he was gonna do all he could to help.

I'm gonna kiss him if I see him!

I'm not sure...my understanding is anyone that can get into the stadium is welcome. The only people who must be cleared are the graduates, I think...because they go down on the actual field.

I mean, there's been no mention of tickets or anything...

Keep an eye on that website...they'll put it there first.

Most graduations, each graduate gets a limited number of tickets, and otherwise, tickets are hard to come by.
