Uh oh... we lost the east coast to Jack... didn't we...
:-)
Thanks... I thought I'd killed the thread there. Where is everyone this evening?
I dunno 'bout the west coast...
I was out watering...need to do some weeding, too.
And I lost my "shed" (tarp tacked to the side) in this strong breeze we're getting. :-(
Well... things seem to be OK here at the 'otel. The staff appear to have come to work today and everything seems in order.
The Bay Area has not apparently come to a screeching halt.
Are you gonna be doing this whole lots of travel routine when Ruthy gets out there? Or will you be able to cut back some?
Turned out to be kinda like the hype surrounding Y2K? ;-)
The world's gonna end!!
My brother's moving back to the Bay Area in a week. He *likes* it there.
Takes all types.
Seriesly, though, I'm kinda looking forward to visiting for his wedding. I've never seen San Francisco, and despite all the knocking it takes, I know it's a beautiful place with a lot of history. Should be interesting to finally see some of it in person.
It's going to be a busy summer, with a few trips down here... but hopefully not too much. At least the trips will probably be two/three day things, and not likey to be all week. At least mostly.
Yikes.
I think SF would have been nice about forty years ago, or before. But now there's just too darn many people.
Dinner at about 7:45ish? Spaghetti with sausage and mushrooms. Unfortunately, I forgot the garlic bread when I stopped at the store, so we're gonna have to punt on that.
Yeah - it came down today... I tucked it under some pieces of wood to keep it from blowin' away... you also had lost your screen to the burn barrel, but I retrieved it :~D
It was really windy today! and it really is gonna freeze tonight, they say 28! After I said 'no way', 'we won't get another frost'...
Hmmm... blanketed the horses... In MAY! I'd bring your little pots in... we did... nothing I can do about the big pot 'cept cover it.
San Fran.... do the Alcatraz tour... with the tape headphones you wear that tell you where to go and tell you what you're seeing. It's cool.
And for traveling from place to place... take cabs. Or the little street cars if you're going up and down the main drag. But otherwise, we took cabs. step out, an empty cab drives by every thirty seconds, drops you off at the door of where you're going. Don't drive, it's nuts, and don't try to figure out the busses.

Somebody described this on another thread as "visual heroin."
Whenever I used to go there, I would drive up, park for the day and walk everywhere while I was there. Then I'd drive back down to Monterey. Of course, the mere thought of doing that ~now~ makes me tired.
It was good huh!?
Forty years ago would have been 1966, hmmm.
Apparently I was unable to pull off both 'calmly interested' and 'curious' at the same time. I guess I could have done or the other, not both.
And it keeps getting better.
Mmmm...mushrooms! Sounds good.
Got the guitar out for the first time in awhile...forgotten just how much I love this little guy. *sigh*
Great...and I just potted some new seeds. Well...I can at least bring the smaller ones in. Thenewseeds are in egg cartons and they're too soggy to move much. Oops. Guess I just hope for the best...prolly won't hurt 'em to freeze before they actually germinate.
