New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Everybody needs to see it.
It really is good. I need to digest it for a little longer and I'll have comment.
I wouldn't bet on it...
Heh...and you set such a good example before leaving... ;-)
Like we ever listen to ~you~.
I know... :`\
I think that thread is dead. Maybe no more fun to be had from it.
Not dead. Just sleepin'. Good morning!
Mornin'.
My computer monitor is fried. I don't know what happened, but I can only describe it as a power "ripple". Nothing actually shut off, but just after it happened, black lines appeared on my monitor.
The lines got thicker until all you can see is one slice of the far left part of the screen. ~sigh~
I'm using my laptop now. It's not worth getting another monitor at this stage of the game, so I'll have to see if I can borrow one from someone until I move. Or at least long enough to save my stuff off of the hard drive.
It's a bummer.
Good Morning - quite so far; rain ended in the night; looks like we got a couple three inches out the storm systems. LSA has a couple of buckets out and we've filled more jugs with rain water, really good stuff for watering the plants. A bit soggy for gardening, maybe some range time.
Get to go for jury duty tomorrow, will have to practice looking 'concerned and sympathetic', it'll be a stretch. Been called four times for the county and twice for the feds. Haven't been selected for a jury yet. Least I don't have to pay for parking, I can park at the office and walk down to the courthouse. Practicing 'concerned and sympathetic' look. Doesn't seem to be working, well, practice makes perfect.
Mornin'... [sip]
What a bummer.
The good news is that it's one less heavy thing to move... :-)
Sorry to hear about that; Overtaxed has been having issues with her computer as well.
In thinking about it... It would be interesting to plug another monitor in just to make sure it's the monitor and not the video card.
I wish it would have held out for another month. :-/
I wasn't planning on taking this computer with me. Just a backup of the My Documents folder so I can keep my pictures and such.
My sister might have an extra monitor laying around. I'll have to call her up a little later and find out.
If it's the video card, I might just set fire to the CPU instead. ;-)
hehehe... I think I used "calmly interested and curious"... and I got selected. But that was only once.
Hehe...
Does it drive well enough that you can get your stuff onto a thumb drive at least?
Thanks, I'll try that "calmly interested and curious" look; that just might do it..
practicing...
There isn't anything wrong with the CPU, as far as I can tell. It's just the monitor.
Oh and speaking of jury duty, I got out of my summons. Whew!
The last thing I needed was to be sequestered for up to 4 weeks in May / June.
Hope it's dry enough for me to put some ribs on thegrill this afternoon.
They're racin' at Talladega this afternoon and the Cubs are playing at home.
My 'puter is fully functional again although that ethernet card still wants to double as a power switch. Oh well...I can live with that.
Mmmm...ribs...grill...
Something very not right about the whole power glitch. Hope it doesn't blow up on you someday. ;-)
