Well, they probably had to train them a bit at first... or maybe their dogs just weren't very birdy... Some of them show bred labs don't hunt much :~)
So sorry that it had to be this way, 2J.
Nah, I guess not.
Manbearpig.

I'm serial!
Moring!
Sorry to hear about your girls....not much I can add to what's already been said. :(
Thanks everyone, for your kind words. I know they were just chickens, but they were great additions to our lives in so many ways.
Just last night, as I was cleaning up the kitchen and thinking about the situation, without even realizing what I was doing I set aside some scraps of pizza crust for them. Then I remembered and put the crust in the bird feeder.
Dr. J is coming to Steve's office today. Steve says he thinks the guy thinks he's gonna drop a bomb on him (tell him he didn't make it this semester) but it's something we already pretty well figure.
I tried to give Steve a pep-talk, tell him it doesn't matter, just keep going...but he's pretty down.
I also told him to take down anything "inflammatory" in his office just in case this "is" political. We debated whether or not he should take the picture of me with the weapon down...got a laugh out of that but ultimately decided it would be best to take it down.
At this point, Steve can compromise his principles a bit if it'll help. Likely won't...but might.
Let us know how it goes.
Well, how'd the laundry go?
Well, at least Steve is prepared for it. That may actually be disconcerting to Dr. J; I hope that's the case. If he's trying to derail Steve, just seeing that Steve is not upset will be vey annoying.
Mornin'.
I certainly hope the news is better than what you're expecting!
Especially after working so hard.
Well...mostly OK. But I found the first problem with the set. The dryer never turns off on its own - ever. First I thought it might just not be detecting moisture anymore, so for the second load I used one of the timed settings since I was headed to bed. Woke up at three and the dryer was still running. Luckily it wasn't heating - not sure why, as when I turned it on again this morning to check, it did OK with that.
I guess it just means I can't do laundry when I'm not here or when I'm on my way to bed, but I feel just sick over it not being right.
email the guy and ask him about that.
At least you're expecting the worst... not much of anywhere you can go from here but up.
Ugh, I have a lovely doctor's exam coming up today. I am so not looking forward to that.
It's amazing how God can create a creature with such a little brain, and yet can still make a place for itself in your heart. It's even more so with animal kingdom geniuses like dogs and cats and horses.
I think one of the high points of civilization was the invention of the internal combustion engine. It took the horse out of providing power for war and peace, and made them pets.
Algore is deeply saddened.
