For the life of me, I can't understand why an FM station in New York wouldn't just adopt a music format for the morning drive instead of having these dopes on the air to compete with all the other drive-time chatter on the radio.

I dropped K-Rock (Howard Stern's old station) from my pre-set stations in my car because I wanted to hear music -- not bullsh!t -- on these FM stations.

I imagine that NYC is a lot like Dallas in that regard. A dial full of every kind of music you could want with a great deal of redundancy. Talk stations are just a handful that cater to the those of us who aren't all that into music. Whatever that station is in New York, it has its talk audience. If it went to music, it would most like have to compete with another local station that played the same type of music.
