Breaking overnight from Chris Cummo at ABC GMA:
Case against at least one Duke defemdant unraveling fast.
Defendant Seiligman went to bank ATM while rape supposedly happening.
12:02 Time stamped photos show girl arriving. Girl leaves, comes back, call friends on cell phone does other things. 12:19 Seiligman calls cab dispatcher 12:24 Seiligman takes cab to bank miles away, uses ATM card (photos show it is him.) 12:42 after walking back to dorm, Seiligman uses security card to enter dorm. Does not leave.
Also, Seiligman was never interviewed by cops. DA seeking reelection simply took "Dancers" word that he raped her.

I've called cabs before from private residence parties and told them to meet me or my group at a specific intersection. It's easier than having a cabbie driving up and down side streets looking for a specific address. I'm not sure why this would be considered a big deal.

"The DA began the witchhunt "trial by media". Once that ball gets rolling; the defense HAS to play too"
Agreed. It is still clearly their strategy at this time, and right now I believe the defense is winning.
"There'll be a court trial."
I am not so sure of that. If what the defense has released about ATM and cell phone records proves out, the D.A. would be courting disaster to take that defendant to trial. The accuser will have no credibility on any other identifications if she was 100% sure that a guy with an ironclad alibi was one of her attackers. It looks to me like the D.A. may have compounded his original media sins by taking a case to the Grand Jury before he had thoroughly investigated it (even the smallest jurisdictions in my county have the good sense to check cell phone records during an investigation). Most of this is only speculation, but IF the accuser identified someone as an attacker who could not possibly have been an attacker, it is game over. That, too, would be the system working.
"the grotty little professorettes in the classrooms, and their disciplines "Take Back the Night" and the "No Justice - No Peace" socialites of "justice""
I spent 11 years at Duke and could not have described it more fittingly (though I think you may have meant "disciples" rather than "disciplines). Bravo.
"And the Duke President CANCELLING the entire LaCrosse season on an non-substantiated allegation."
I have heard conflicting stories here. I have heard it said the season was canceled because of the rape allegation, and I have also heard it was canceled because of the stripper party held at a University-owned house. The latter might be a proper (albeit harsh) disciplinary action over an undisputed event. The former would be punishment based only on an allegation.

I'd be curious to know if taking a cab was part of this gentleman's typical pattern.

I have not looked into this, but I am sure that it is possible to manipulate these time-stamps. Dan Abrams has talked to the forensic photography expert who authenticated the pictures as to time and date.
You can change the time and date on the pictures, but you cannot change it on the camera's internal memory.

You also wouldn't want a cab coming to where there may be underage drinking, strippers etc.

Is this Nifongs biggest case? He sure acts like and amateur.
To: Peach
Hang in there Peach. The lies are so blatant in this case that it's hard to imagine the persecution (misspelled on purpose) winning.
Let's all wait and see if the bad guys win, before ranting to the point of being banned.

...but the name we've been given is MaNGum, not MaGNum. The latter was the name in post #21.
Crystal Mangum. Okay. Fine. So she wasn't trying to use a name that would be linked to the "finer" things in life.
My mistake for acting like NYT subscriber and believing that a name would be a fact.
Since it now appears it was probably an unintentional typo, then make it a Guardian subscriber.

I want to make sure I am clear about something. The alleged raped, according to the AV, took place between midnight and 12:30am, correct?

12:31:26 Photo of AV apparently stumbling on back porch stairs (0:00:39)
12:37:58 Photo of AV lying down on back porch (0:06:32)
And that is where they are saying that the rape took place.

Especially since the address at 610 Buchanan Blvd. is impossible to see from the street as we remember from the discussion about the address being mentioned three times in that first 911 call before "Kim" admitted to making it.
It's a block and a half from 610 to the corner of Buchanan Blvd. and W. Markham Ave which could be a very likely pickup point.
To: Jrabbit
The pictures were taken ten days after the incident.

It's in the Herald article posted somewhere in this thread.
Bell Belahouel is owner and operator of the Safe Ride company, which allows Duke students to pay using an account tied to their student IDs. Belahouel said his records show both the indicted students have used his service before, but not on March 13.

I'll speculate that they hired a private cab because they wanted to go get some food. The safe ride on my campus would only take us immediately home.

Have the defendants or their attorneys been following these threads?

If the idiot had waited until he had evidence before going to the GJ, he wouldn't be making up new stories as he goes along.

However, some states can march you in front of a grand jury and give you limited immunity and order you to comply. Yes, but they can never take away your right to forget things. LOL

The coach was let go because he caused the university to appear in the national media in a negative light and the administration hated having to work for a living.
