NEW YORK Melissa Etheridge's partner, Tammy Lynn Michaels, is pregnant with twins, the couple has announced on the singer's Web site.
"We are thrilled to announce that Tammy is pregnant, and expecting our twins sometime around this fall," they said in a statement. "To answer the obvious question: we used an anonymous donor from a (sperm) bank."
Etheridge, 44, and Michaels, 31, held a commitment ceremony in 2003. The Grammy-winning singer has two children from her relationship with former partner Julie Cypher: daughter Bailey Jean and son Beckett. Cypher had the children through artificial insemination using a sperm donation from rock legend David Crosby.
In the announcement, posted Monday, Etheridge and Michaels said: "The twins will be a joyful addition to our loving home. We are a blessed family."
Etheridge was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, but is now cancer-free. She last released a greatest hits album titled, "The Road Less Traveled."
Michaels starred on the 2005 NBC comedy "Committed" and has appeared on Showtime's "The L Word."

LOL. His genetic stock is superior to that of her first "wife's" kids donor, David Crosby.
If you stand on your head, I hear its quite efficient. ;o)

Cmon now, with Heather has Two Mommies in all the public schools, the kid will feel "normal"
She is a 9 in my book.

Training for a 'Dykes on Bikes' race?
Melissa can lick all the girls in town AND get them pregnant? Wow!
She left Lou Diamond Phillips for Melissa; so I wouldn't be surprised.
Q: What do you call 5,000 armed Lesbians in uniform?
A: Militia Etheridge (rimshot on drum)
I hate the word "partner." I have a business and a partner, and I have to refer to her specifically as my "business partner" everytime I introduce her, or people are going to be thinking weird things.
It's similar to when "gay" stopped meaning happy.
I know that her ex-husband was a very good looking actor, I don't want to mention his name, because it is a painful memory, and he is so handsome too!
Just bumping along for comparison to all the folks saying we should mind our own business when it's Cheney's daughter, but were quiet sheep when it was a liberal lesbian having kids.
I feel sorry for the children. Sperm donors, David Crosby, different mothers, no fathers... What a tragedy these children are going through.
