Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is planning to eat his new baby's placenta, it emerged today.
It is the latest in a series of unusual revelations by the 43-year-old Mission Impossible star about the child he is expecting with fiancee Katie Holmes.
He told GQ magazine: "I'm gonna eat the placenta. I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I'm gonna eat the cord and the placenta right there."
Cruise has also claimed he knew actress Holmes, 27, was pregnant, even before she told him.
A follower of Scientology, he has defended the religion's belief that women should give birth in silence.
"It's really about respecting the woman. It's not about her not screaming," he has told GQ.
Cruise, who also believes he can cure drug addicts, plans to marry Holmes in the summer. He said earlier this month that their baby was due "any day now".
"Placenta! Placenta!!!"
This is just pretty damn disgusting....
Hey, here's one of those postings that you missed... guess what, you can reply on here too...
I learned that eating the placenta is an ancient practice done all over the world. Yeah, I think it's weird, but the practice of eating the placenta is more common than you might think.
No one ever believes that I didn't swear at my husband or scream during birth. The other day I was talking to my husband about this quiet birth thing. He said, "That's how you did it." I did say, "Ow!" a bit. My children still tease me about saying, "Owie!" It really is a matter of letting your body relax. It's only when I got frustrated with it taking too long and started to panic that it really started to hurt.
Hey! I had my baby at home. My midwife said placenta actually isn't very good for people to eat, because it filters the toxins. She knew I had not intention to, but we had a conversation about it anyhow.
I should just leave this one alone. But AFAIK placenta is chock full of all kinds of hormones, which may make it so little Tommy won't be even able to or be interested in fathering any more children, which will be excellent.
The only words that come to mind are "sick puppy".
"Mmmmmmmm....Placenta...."
LOL!
