I would NEVER marry anyone unless I was ABSOLUTELY SURE that it was the right thing to do, and the right person. I would probably date at least a year.

Some people KNOW love immediately. You will not need a year to know if it's the real thing. You just know.

You can wait a year, go ahead.

I knew the first night I met my wife (of 33 years) that she was the one ...... and I had been with hundreds of girls before her.

Sometimes, it's just chemical, biological ........ it's just special.

I hope that happens to you.

I've been married 33 years also, and knew almost immediately on meeting her that she was the right girl. Even though we were just kids in our early 20's.

I like Art, so I hope this works out well for them. There are a lot of well wishers on the thread, which is a nice thing.

It's just that I consider marriage a very serious thing. Once you do it, it can't be undone. You can cleanly separate from a friend, but not a wife/husband.

A person at work dated her now-husband for about three weeks before marriage, and about 15 years later, they are still happily married. She says they as soon as they met, it was as though they had known each other forever. I can't say I have any idea what that is like. But she does agree, she got lucky. That is not the norm, to have a long-lasting marriage from such a short courtship.
