Don't forget 'The Big Game' in 1982, Stanford vs Cal - one of the greatest plays in college history.

In what is now known simply as 'The Play,' Cal lateraled the ball five times on a kickoff return with four seconds left on the clock and ran for a touchdown through the Stanford Band, which had run onto the field to celebrate prematurely.

One of the members of the marching band was clobbered by the player in the end zone and I think still feels dizzy from that hit!

The Play is often recounted with KGO radio announcer Joe Starkey's dramatic call of The Play, which he hailed as "the most amazing, sensational, traumatic, heartrending, exciting, thrilling finish in the history of college football!"

It sounds exciting. I was having goosebumps just by reading it.

I remember "The Play".

See if you remember this one.

Notre Dame vs. USC about 1974. Anthony Davis was running back for USC.

Notre Dame was clobbering USC and the score was 24-0 at the half.

Opening kickoff for the second half went to Anthony Davis who returned it for a touchdown.

USC won the game, I think the final score was 48-24. One of the best college games I have ever seen.

I think that play was named the Greatest Sports Play of the 1980s on Warner Wolf's "Plays of the Decade" show back then.

If I remember correctly, that was John Elway's last game at Stanford.

The officials really blew the call, too -- though it's hard to blame them. Both teams had players leave the sideline during the kickoff (everyone thought the game was over), so there should have been offsetting penalties on both teams.
