Yeah, the only horror remake that I can think of, which was as good as the original, is Dawn of the Dead.

And I can't honestly say that it was better, having never seen the Romero classic.

I have heard good things about the contemporary version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

One that's pretty good is the Shining with Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall.

One of the best film adaptations of a Stephen King novel, IMO.

I know a lot of diehard King fans-and King himself-were furious at Stanley Kubrick for altering the ending, but considering what a great director he was-for the most part-and how awful King is at turning his great works of fiction into even halfway decent films-with a few notable exceptions-I thought it turned out just right.

A lot of critics had the same problem with the revised version of A Clockwork Orange.

"The Shining" was a very good movie. Something about the nature of the main character's lunacy and the way that kid started to go crazy, too.

Kubrick was great there. He's a good Director. I've seen that movie a few times. It's really good - great acting as well. Jack Nicholson is terrific.

Yes, but at the end the kid was smarter than his father.

Catching up.

I have to admit that one of my favorite romantic movies is "Sleepless in Seattle"
