NEW YORK - Banned by Comedy Central from showing an image of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, the creators of "South Park" skewered their own network for hypocrisy in the cartoon's most recent episode.
The comedy in an episode aired during Holy Week for Christians instead featured an image of Jesus Christ defecating on President Bush and the American flag.
In an elaborately constructed two-part episode of their Peabody Award-winning cartoon, "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker intended to comment on the controversy created by a Danish newspaper's publishing of caricatures of Muhammad. Muslims consider any physical representation of their prophet to be blasphemous.

I laugh at tons of stuff and find humor in most anything.
I don't find it funny that anyone would depict Jesus defecating, or the flag or my president being defecated on.
A combination of all three makes me smile even less.

Because progressives don't want free speech. Free speech might endanger their "progress" or five year plan.
Free speech can only be "free" if it is totally PC. George Orwell called it duckspeak.

How many fundamentalist islametards do you think are currently enjoying the scatological humor and biting social commentary of South Park? Do you think a boycott by them would seriously affect South Park's ratings and ad rates?
The Comedy Central executives simply saw the Danish cartoonists and newspaper executives receive fatwas and they crumbled.
"And how long has this 1st Amendment been a part of this administration?" (paraphrased)
Brilliant satire of the press.
Thank you. The show is a little too 21st century for the hayseed Right
I see Butters. I'm talking about the guy directly behind Timmy in black. (not Mr Slave)
"Have mohammed look like a photo of Ryan Seacrest"
How about a generic turbanhead with a sign permanently pointing to him saying "Not Mohammad"?
This whole thing is about the PC climate in America. I know I'm coming off like I'm the president of Comedy Central, but I don't think you can blame them for this. You have to blame the whole PC culture, which would create a whole storm of controversy around Comedy Central which they really don't want. Some people may feel like its their duty to brave this storm and not bow down to PC, but in the end they're a company and they don't have any moral duties to anyone.

Yes, that's Darth Chef. :-)
I'd have to agree.

Nice, they slipped that one by.
It is a pre-emptive surrender. CC would not lose 1 penny or have ANY negative responses to showing Mo again. Already been done.
You really think they're afraid of physical violence? Come on. How stupid do you think these people are? Thats an absurd idea.
Now I see.
Could be Darth Chef.
Nobody will be laughing at dreck like this on Judgement Day. Those who mocked God and His Son will be heading for Hell.
You don't think the MSM would try to stir up controversy? You don't think someone would try to make a big deal about it? Granted, I don't think many Americans would be offended, but thats probably not a risk Comedy Central wants to take.
I read the transcript of Flight 93 yesterday. Besides the horror, I was struck by how many times those murdering thugs invoked the name of allah.
I know that scene will make me uncomfortable. However, put in the context of it being an Al Queda video--South Park hit the target.
