Everyone knows that I love South Park.
On tonight's episode, South Park allowed the desecration of the American Flag and Jesus with fecal matter, but would not allow an image of Mohammad. It was done to make a point about how weak and gay the networks are in bowing to terrorism.
I think the episode was to send a message to all of us that will will not accept the media bowing to terrorism, but allowing anything that might offend Americans. If they can show Catholics, Scientologists, and most any thing else guaranteed to be controversial to some, but not show the image of Muhammad, we have already lost the war against terrorism.
You can tell Comedy Central what you think of their sensorship selections at http://www.comedycentral.com/help/help.jhtml where you can use the "viewer feedback form" link to tell them what you think. Crap on the flag, but protect Mohammad? Will you let that go without a statement?
Which part of "Liberal Media" do you not associate with "Cowardly scum"???
Dang it, I missed SP, I will download it when i see it posted on the torrent sites.
Right there with you
BTW - the viewer feedback form is a small link under the heading: Questions And Comments About Comedy Central Programming

I just can't get all that upset about cartoon flags and Jesuses when the point is a good one. Some people here are too literal-minded sometimes.
I was responding to this comment in the initial story: "Crap on the flag, but protect Mohammad? Will you let that go without a statement?" That IS the point. Or you should rephrase that comment, because I was supporting SP, too.
Dammit, I misse it tonight. Do you know when it might be shown again?
Less cable news....more South Park!!!
"torrent sites"?
Can you explain what that is and how it works? I'm not familiar with the term. Thanks...
its a file sharing type of program. do a search and you should
find what you need :) you install the program then download a small file, a "torrent" then that tells the program what files to download. i use bitlord. bitlord.com
PD,
Maybe CC wussed out and maybe not. I personally think this was intended to be a swipe at CC and their recent decisions not to rerun some of last season's episodes. I don't think Trey and Matt even animated Mo for this episode. (I could easily be wrong though. We'll see if CC responds on Thursday.)
I will note though that I've been watching the syndicated episodes of SP lately, and the edits in syndication look exactly like the Mohammed edit did. (i.e. text on a black background describing what is going on, as in "Cartman is crapping out of his mouth.") This leads me to suspect that it might be a slam against the syndication edits as well, but that's just a gut feeling.
A lot of you seem to think that Matt and Trey never intended to show Mohammed. I believe they did. During the Mohammed scene, the screen said "Comedy Central has refused to broadcast an image of Mohammed on their network".
Matt and Trey are capable of many things - but libelling their own network is probably not one of them.
Here is my letter to Comedy Central:
How nice to see that Comedy Central refuses to show an inoffensive image of Mohammed, but did allow Crap all over Jesus and the American flag. Of course, I believe in free speech - my problem is not what was shown, but what was censored. Our country is at war with terrorists, and you have picked the wrong side. I hope your censorship of South Park somehow violates your contract so that Matt and Trey can get out of it and find a network with principles.
Mat drudge went through this then finely went back doing it on the net and Radio. Once TV is hooked up to the net in most homes cable and networks will be history (i hope).
