Yes my read on this is that it more of a commentary on CC bowing to pressure relating to "In the Closet" and "Bloody Mary".
Matt, Trey and CC had never had a problem lampooning Mohammad or any religious figure in the past ...
It is only with those two "recent" episodes has the network bowed.
And the Manatee's were a definite Cruise reference

You are not going to believe this sh!t: "Al-Qaida's deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri praised insurgents in Iraq particularly Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and called on all Muslims to support them in a video posted Thursday on the Internet."
1. What's not to believe, thats standard, nothing unusual?
2. And that pertains to this thread how?
To: nhoward14
Definitely a classic, down to the Terrence and Philip opener.

My other read on this, is that this could be Matt and Trey just being Matt and Trey.
They knew that there would be MANY people tuning in(like most of us here) just waiting with baited breath to see the lampooning of Mohammad. What better way to "get over" on the viewer than not doing it, and pulling the "crap" ending.
Brilliant.

2. And that pertains to this thread how? Uhhh, OK. During both of the South Park MoHamHead episodes, they show Ayman al-Zawahri spouting some Arabic gibberish with hilarious English subtitles. While all of America freaks out and buries their head in the sand. Because the muzzies are offended that someone might poke fun at their beliefs. Get it?

"If I was president of Comedy Central, I'd cancel South Park and issue a statement that fart jokes aren't funny anymore."
That's about the only thing they could do to make themselves look even more cowardly - to cancel their highest rated show because they were criticized.

They did puss out. I wrote them a message and told them they lost a household because of their cowardice.

You're really gonna stop watching Southpark over this? It's the principle involved.

Why is it so important to you to see a cartoon Muhammad? It's the issue that's interesting, and I gather, they've fully explored that. The image is not the point. People's reactions, like yours, for example, is the point.

I'd have to think up some other way to punish Viacom.... maybe I could give up CBS evening news :)

They did puss out. I wrote them a message and told them they lost a household because of their cowardice. They had nothing to prove as far as showing Mohammad, they've been there done that. My bet is that M&T NEVER intended to show Mohammad in this episode. Just a way of commenting on CC's recent bowing to pressure. And a way to "get over" on viewers like you. (see post #209) That would be SOP for the SP crew.

I don't watch cbs news. I get all my news here or online. FR covers more news stories than all the LSM combined.
