And a seven month-old would pretty much only be beginning to move around by himself. They, from my experience, are not climbing out of high chairs at that age.

In all fairness, the baby could have fallen all by himself. Kids that little often try to climb out of their high chairs, cribs, and car seats. When Brittany drove with the baby on her lap that was wrong, and she deserved the black mark on her, but that does not mean she's a bad mother. That said, I will admit that she's young, stupid and has bad taste in men.

One morning Tim was rather full his head felt heavy which made him shake
He fell off the ladder and broke his skull, and they carried him home his corpse to wake.
They wrapped him up in a nice clean sheet, and laid him out upon the bed
With a gallon of whiskey at his feet and a bottle of porter at his head.

That was my first thought. With her money and lifestyle, you would think that a competent nanny would be taking care of the baby pretty much 24/7.

Well, I didn't mean to imply that every child that falls out of a high chair is a victim of bad parenting, but it is kind of a coincidence that Britney Spears was caught driving in her car with the baby in her lap (that was her, wasn't it?), and then she is getting in a new problem.

She still should have taken the child into a hospital before 6 days passed!

A skull fracture and a blood clot? This accident could have killed this baby. Subdural hematomas are sleeper killers. It is usually two days or so before you realize anything is wrong and by then it is frequently too late. Sounds like Britney and K-Fed dodged a bullet on this one.

Isn't the father like barely 20?

My, what mastery of the English language you are demonstrating.

Whatever the cause. Poor little guy. You can say what you want about his parents, but the baby looks like a sweet little boy.

Yep, the child is innocent here. No matter how stupid the parents are

I know of cases where a kid is hurt playing and the parents are forced to defend themselves from child abuse charges when they get to the hospital. I was constantly getting banged up when I was a kid.

I remember when my oldest was 3, he was bouncing on my bed, fell off, and cut open his head. In a way I was worried the doctor would think I had hurt him or something. The doctor turned out to be a nice guy who told my son, "This will scar and someday they'll say you're ruggedly handsome. But, right now you're a bloody mess." By the time my son got back to the waiting room he was trying to jump up and down on chairs, yelling, "Happy! Happy! Happy!"

On April 7, when Britney Spears and Kevin Federline realized that their baby, Sean Preston, had been sleeping more than usual, panic bells went off.

Just six days earlier, the 7-month-old had taken a major fall from his high chair, a tumble that had his parents worried that he might have been critically injured.

Six. Days. WTF?

Hey, Britney?

I don't care how good the marble kitchen floors look or how much they cost. They're really painful to a baby's skull upon impact.

Keep every waking thought on your child. ALWAYS.
Everything else should come second, IMHO.

Sorry, but a 7-month old falling from a high chair is NOT normal. I have a 6-month old in the house...he is NEVER unsupervised while on the high chair, nor is he EVER left unsecured. There is a reason the modern high chairs (since I don't remember the one I used as a baby, of course,) have 5-point fall restraint belts.

And, waiting 6 days after a 7-month baby falling, to take him to the ER to see what's wrong?? I would ask if Britney and Kevin are idiots, but that's already been proven repeatedly. They are white trash, and it's been proven, but if they will not take proper care of that child, then someone needs to step in and do the job they are clearly unqualified for.

One theory is that the Lindberg baby was killed by an insane relative, who almost did him in earlier. She was never to be left alone with him, but she was. There are many holes in that case, ruined evidence, strange stuff.

My oldest and youngest had constant bruises on their heads. My oldest would bang toys against his head when he got frustrated. Of course, it hurt, which frustrated him more. so what did he do, bang the toys against his head harder.

My youngest was impulsive. She still is, but now she's eight and has a bit more common sense. When she was little she'd lunge for whatever she wanted. I learned pretty quick to anticipate this, so there were few accidents at home. When other people watched her was the problem. Once we were at a restaurant with friends. Their teenage daughter asked to hold her. So she sat my baby on her lap. My daughter saw something out of reach and lunged for it. Then when smack, head first onto the concrete floor. It scared the teenager so bad she started crying right there, on the spot. My mother in law decided to take my baby for a wagon ride when she was 10 months old, and had a similar incident on the driveway. Fortunately, no fractured skull, ever. She's turned out quite intelligent, so far.
