That may be true, the in terms of cinamatography alone, I feel this new production falls short. On the contrary, this version makes Moses and Pharaoh and others much more believeable than the thundering Heston extravaganza.
DeMille's 10 Commandments looks schlocky in comparison.

The acting in the DeMille version is certainly hammy. However, the definition of schlock is: Something, such as merchandise or literature, that is inferior or shoddy.
